When a loved one suffers from a medical condition or disability, family members or close friends are often called upon to help take care of that individual, thereby taking on the role of informal caregivers, also known as family caregivers. The aim of our research is to understand family caregivers’ needs in order to develop timely and relevant programs to assist them with their care-giving activities and pursuit of other valued activities and interests.
